|Trump signed executive orders referring to the enhancement of the skills for the border management and executive mission
According to recent press releases from the White house, on January 25th, President Donald J. Trump signed two executive orders that will have a direct and immediate impact on the DHS’s operations and the executive mission.
The first Executive Order, enhancement of public safety in the interior of the United States, sets forth the enforcement priorities that will guide DHS to keep moving forward on the reinstatement of secure communities and focusing on other significant changes of the federal immigration policy. President trump has ordered that all necessary actions be taken for ICE to hire 10.000 immigration officers.
The second Executive Order, Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements, focused on border infrastructure and detention and asylum procedures, as well as the hiring of 5.000 additional border patrol agents as well as other important issues.

Ricardo Treviño Chapa elected Deputy Secretary General of the WCO
Ricardo Treviño Chapa, the current Administrator General of Mexico Customs, was elected Deputy Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO) on 14 December 2017. He will take up his post at the Secretariat on 1 January 2018.

The topic for this years’ meeting was “Facilitation and Security: The road to global prosperity.”

The Board of Directors of World BASC Organization has selected Mr. Fernando Duque as the new Executive Director of the World BASC Organization, at a time when the Organization is committed to a strategy of strengthening its internal processes, updating the BASC Norm and Standards, and expanding globally.
2017 World BASC Organization General Assembly
On March 30th and 31st, the 2017 World BASC Organization General Assembly was held at the World BASC Organization headquarter offices in Miami. Representatives of the BASC National chapters from Colombia, Costa Rica , Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic and the United States participated in the anual meeting. In this occasion, representatives from the BASC Regional Chapters of Colombia and Ecuador where present as well.
Panama has seized 6.4 tons of illicit drugs so far in 2016
Panamanian authorities have seized 6.4 tons of drugs and arrested 72 alleged drug traffickers so far this year, the Public Safety Ministry reported Sunday.
World Customs Organization Meetings
