Temporary Measures to Deal with the COVID-19 Pandemic

Fecha

Given the existing and ongoing concern faced by our BASC community in confronting the COVID-19 pandemic, the World BASC Organization continues to be highly concerned over the impact of the pandemic not only on health but also on the potential impact on the operations and continuity of normal commercial activities in the respective countries where BASC operates. At the World BASC Organization (WBO), our principal priority is the health, safety, and well-being of the officers and directors of our chapters and associated companies.

Therefore, considering the different official government directives resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, which by design limit the movement of commercial and labor activities in the various countries where our chapters are operating, WBO reiterates its commitment to its BASC community through the temporary establishment of flexible procedures and time periods for certification and recertification of its member companies.

That is why we are extending, for a period effective this date, for thirty (30) days, all processes related to compliance with the times of certification and recertification of companies, including the scheduling of audits and approval of certifications, in order to support companies in maintaining their BASC certification.

Once the restrictions in movement in the country where the BASC member located are lifted and the activities for the commercial sector as well as for our members gradually return to normal conditions, each chapter will be expected to resume its normal activities related to the certification and recertification process.

The period of thirty (30) days will be effective from the date of issuance of this communication.

WBO will continue to monitor the situation in each of the BASC countries and, in the event that the health emergency and restrictions extend beyond the thirty (30) days hereby granted, new measures will be considered in order to ensure the continuity of BASC services to our member companies.
